To raise USD 5,000 through your donation to provide 2 tins of formula milk a month to 100 infants for 3 months.
The situation in Syria, although most of the conflict in the country is reduced to pacifying operations, the war still raging in Northern Syria, especially in Idlib province, where the anti-government forces dug in and turn it into their strongholds. Uprising still happened across Syria, claiming civilians’ lives and livelihood. All of these contribute to Syria’s instability, resulting in price hikes, difficulty in accessing basic necessities, and poverty. Syrian people’s situation is direr than before. From a nutritional perspective, infants and young children are particularly vulnerable.
INFANTS IN SYRIA
According to the World Food Programme (WFP) in September 2020, in the last six months (March-September), the number of food-insecure children has risen to 4.6 million. After ten years-long conflicts, an unprecedented number of children are now battling soaring rates of malnutrition. The most visible signs of malnutrition are stunting, wasting, and micronutrient deficiencies. The most crucial time to prevent stunting –that is when the body and brain are prevented to reach its full potential- is the first 1000 days. In order to prevent it, the child must not be deprived of essential nutrients, which are derived from breast milk or formula milk.
Therefore, it is crucial to provide them with the necessary provisions to curb the catastrophe that has befallen the Syrian people. Their very future hanging in balance.
We are aiming to help the Syrian infants by providing them with much-needed milk formula to 100 infants in order to reverse malnutrition that is crucial at the first 1000 days. We will distribute it at Aleppo countrysides, especially at Al-Bab and A’zaz. Our greater goal is to maintain our distribution monthly until the Syria conflict end.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Our Prophet Muhammad may peace be upon him once said:
“واللَّه فِي عَوْنِ العبْدِ مَا كانَ العبْدُ في عَوْن أَخيهِ”
Meaning: “And Allah will aid His slave so long as he aids his brother”
At this turbulent time, extending our helping hand is more crucial than ever, especially for our Syrian brothers and sisters that have been suffering for more than 9 years. Our donation and help will be for nothing, as it will benefit us as well. May Allah Ta’ala bless us all in this trying time.
